I have found a new hobby. I have recently have taken up baking. I am really enjoying it. I am starting to feel like a homemaker now though. And my husband has been very supportive of this new hobby of mine. He is into culinary arts and he does enjoy watching Ace of Cakes and Cake Boss with me. We love the Food Network. For his 27th birthday, I baked his cake… I can’t say that I’m proud of the way the cake looked though. It looked very homemade, but it tasted great. Icing the cake is harder than they make it look on TV. I really need more practice! I’m sure I’ll get more practice once I start my Wilton Cake Decorating class. Yes, I signed up for it! I’m starting on Wednesday. I am so excited! It’s another way for me to get away from the kids for a few hours. I love my kids and all, but sometimes I need a break from them. I think I deserve some “me” time. I work very hard to make sure that they are well taken care of. I think I need this break, right? This is going to be the first time I will be away for a few hours from Zeke, my new baby.

Josh’s birthday cake - yeah, it’s ugly but it tasted good!

Another cake I baked and attempted to decorate for our parents’ anniversary… yeah it isn’t very pretty…

And just a few updates on me and the kids… We went to visit our friends to Calgary and we also spent a few hours at Lake Louise…

Just thought I’d share some photos since I didn’t get to blog about it previously. I’ll be going to bed soon so I won’t writing much.

This first picture was taken on Zoe’s first birthday. It is a Korean tradition to wear the traditional Korean dress on your first birthday. Her dress is still slightly big for her as you can tell. Doesn’t she look adorable? Yes, Zoe is half-Korean and half-Filipino. There are times when she looks more Korean and there are also times when she looks more Filipino. But, I want her to learn both cultures because that’s who she is. Husband and I have decided that we will teach her 3 languages: English, Filipino and Korean.

We finished painting Zoe’s room. Husband did all the painting and caulking and sanding… while I did the artwork (if you can call it that). I haven’t handpainted anything at all in my life but I had fun doing Zoe’s room. ;)

Above is a picture with Mickey Mouse when we visited Disneyland as a family. This was our first family trip, so it was really special… I can’t wait to go back there again. I’m so thankful to God and to my husband for giving us this opportunity to travel as a family.

And last but not least — it is one of my favorite pictures of daddy and Zoe. lol I asked husband to give her some blue jello as a snack (as a treat from mommy)… and this was the result. I love this picture, I want to frame it!

Well, that’s all for now. Goodnight everyone!

tags,

As I have previously announced, I got married in November and have been waiting for the professional photos to come in. Well, we received all our wedding pictures on a DVD and thought I’d share a few… These pictures were taken by the talented Lloyd Yoon of Night and Day Photography, along with his wife, Merry. These 2 are really awesome photographers and I’m glad that we had them as our wedding photographer. I can’t wait for our wedding album to come in. =)

(CHRISTMAS RECAP)

  • We spent Christmas Eve at my parents’ house, where Zoe was showered with many Christmas gifts. It must be nice being a little baby, because you are so popular and everybody gives you a gift even if you aren’t even close to them. lol I miss being a kid again.
  • We then spent our Christmas day at Josh’s parents, had dinner but we left early.
  • I kinda want to set up our own Christmas tradition, but since we are just starting our family, I think it’s also important to spend time with our immediate family… but hopefully someday in the future, we can develop our own tradition.

(RANDOM NEWS)

  • I find myself reading a lot of Wikipedia articles. I don’t know why. They’re not always accurate, but a lot of the stuff on there are interesting. Wikis are fun. lol
  • Also when I am bored, why do I keep reading the questions and answers on Yahoo! Answers? They are all a good laugh, for sure, but a lot of those questions are so stupid it’s not even funny.
  • I am so proud of my husband. He hasn’t smoked in a week. He tried many times to quit in the past but this time, he seems to be doing well. I hope that he keeps it up. Another thing that I am happy about is that he is finally worship leading in church. God has blessed him with his talent in music and I’m glad he is using it for God.
  • I am still trying to come up with my goals for 2009. So far, I only came up with one. And that is to continue working on my unfinished project — aka Vanity High.

The first baby is me. The baby in the middle is Josh, my future husband. ;) And finally, the picture on the right hand side is our daughter, Zoe. Do you see the resemblance? It is kinda scary, isn’t it?

The reason I have our baby pictures is because I am currently working on a slide show presentation that will be shown on our wedding reception. I enjoy video editing so much, but I am stuck at the moment. I can’t seem to come up with the right music to play to set the mood that I want to achieve. lol

Only 2 more weeks left before my wedding day! It is so close! I still have so much to do.

The past few weeks have been filled with many trials and difficulties. It is a very personal matter that I don’t want to really discuss further and continue to dwell on. I know that I don’t have control over everything. I can’t make everyone happy. I can’t control other people’s feelings. What they do is between them and God. But I failed yet again. Because I reacted irrationally. However, it was a mistake that made me realize how helpless I really am without God’s wisdom. I had allowed my emotions to dictate my own decisions again. My emotions tempted me to do things that I desire not to do.

I did what I felt.

Why did God have to design women to be more emotional than men? It has always been a constant battle for me between what I feel and what I know is right and rational.

Some things that I was taught from my pastor-teacher:

Emotional stress causes people to act on impulse.

The emotion of fear, also a sin, causes flight.

The emotion of disgust causes repulsion.

The emotion of anger causes violence.

Instincts are reflex behavior based on emotion rather than on
thought.
