This year, I was actually feeling the Christmas spirit. I feel like it’s our first Christmas together as a married couple/family… but it’s really our second. Last year, we didn’t even give presents to each other. I remember, the day after Christmas last year… we found out we were pregnant with our second baby. That was our present to each other Christmas 2008. lol This year was fun, but financially challenging. We purchased a new vehicle because we needed to. Our minivan broke down, so we bought a new vehicle. We weren’t able to buy gifts for everybody, but that is okay. We were glad that we bought our kids presents early in November.

We hosted a Christmas potluck this year for our close friends. We all had a great time. I love to entertain and eating while having a great conversation with friends. I don’t talk much, but I’m a good listener (at least I like to think so). Our friends, Robyn and Allan, who were in town for the weekend, stayed a bit longer for us and we really appreciate them for doing that.

Here are some photos…

We bought our very first Christmas tree from Walmart. Last year, we didn’t put up a Christmas tree, so this year we decided to. I’m very excited for Christmas this year. I haven’t been this excited in a while actually… I’m looking forward to this…

Zeke has been smiling a lot

Zeke has been smiling a lot

I love his cute smile. He makes this little sound as though he is trying to talk and/or imitate what you are saying. I love talking to him, but he responds more when you speak to him in a high-pitch voice (which my husband can’t stand but it’s the only way Zeke would respond). I am so blessed to have my children, and so blessed to be able to have the ability to bear kids. A lot of women have trouble conceiving a child, so I feel very grateful that God has allowed me to have healthy children. As I went through my 2 pregnancies, I realized how amazing the female body works. Even when you pop that baby out, you are given the ability to nourish them and give them the best food that is breast milk. I just think it’s beautiful. =)

But I wonder if it’s really true that breastfeeding helps you get back to your pre-pregnancy shape/weight faster… hmm… Right now, I don’t see it. Zeke is almost 3 months old. I read somewhere that you go back to your pre-pregnancy weight in the sixth month. Well, when Zoe was born (I was exclusively breastfeeding her for the first 6 months) I was still a little bigger than I was before pregnancy.

I’m gonna see how I do this second time around. I’ll make sure that I don’t get pregnant again before Zeke turns 1… lol

I have found a new hobby. I have recently have taken up baking. I am really enjoying it. I am starting to feel like a homemaker now though. And my husband has been very supportive of this new hobby of mine. He is into culinary arts and he does enjoy watching Ace of Cakes and Cake Boss with me. We love the Food Network. For his 27th birthday, I baked his cake… I can’t say that I’m proud of the way the cake looked though. It looked very homemade, but it tasted great. Icing the cake is harder than they make it look on TV. I really need more practice! I’m sure I’ll get more practice once I start my Wilton Cake Decorating class. Yes, I signed up for it! I’m starting on Wednesday. I am so excited! It’s another way for me to get away from the kids for a few hours. I love my kids and all, but sometimes I need a break from them. I think I deserve some “me” time. I work very hard to make sure that they are well taken care of. I think I need this break, right? This is going to be the first time I will be away for a few hours from Zeke, my new baby.

Josh’s birthday cake - yeah, it’s ugly but it tasted good!

Another cake I baked and attempted to decorate for our parents’ anniversary… yeah it isn’t very pretty…

And just a few updates on me and the kids… We went to visit our friends to Calgary and we also spent a few hours at Lake Louise…

Just thought I’d share some photos since I didn’t get to blog about it previously. I’ll be going to bed soon so I won’t writing much.

This first picture was taken on Zoe’s first birthday. It is a Korean tradition to wear the traditional Korean dress on your first birthday. Her dress is still slightly big for her as you can tell. Doesn’t she look adorable? Yes, Zoe is half-Korean and half-Filipino. There are times when she looks more Korean and there are also times when she looks more Filipino. But, I want her to learn both cultures because that’s who she is. Husband and I have decided that we will teach her 3 languages: English, Filipino and Korean.

We finished painting Zoe’s room. Husband did all the painting and caulking and sanding… while I did the artwork (if you can call it that). I haven’t handpainted anything at all in my life but I had fun doing Zoe’s room. ;)

Above is a picture with Mickey Mouse when we visited Disneyland as a family. This was our first family trip, so it was really special… I can’t wait to go back there again. I’m so thankful to God and to my husband for giving us this opportunity to travel as a family.

And last but not least — it is one of my favorite pictures of daddy and Zoe. lol I asked husband to give her some blue jello as a snack (as a treat from mommy)… and this was the result. I love this picture, I want to frame it!

Well, that’s all for now. Goodnight everyone!
