Lavender Rain

I love love love cherry blossoms! I am so in love with cherry blossoms. Even though my wedding is in November, I’m still planning a cherry blossom wedding. I don’t care if it isn’t in season. I don’t mind having to use fake cherry blossoms — I just want everything to be decorated with cherry blossoms. Josh allowed me to purchase a cherry blossom graphic to use for the invitations. I finished designing it already, I just need to order the supplies (paper, envelopes, ribbons, etc). I think a cherry blossom theme wedding is perfect for a chocolate brown and pink wedding, don’t you think? When I think of cherry blossoms, I think Japanese or Sakura, but I want this wedding to look modern/elegant and not too Asian. I have been browsing through the web, trying to find ideas, and I found these amazing cherry blossom paper lanterns.

Yeah I know those lanterns look too Asian, but they are so nice… Oh well, I am still brainstorming anyways… I was thinking of maybe putting those lanterns for the head table… and I found these as well…

And as for the wedding cake, perhaps something like this would look nice:

…except I don’t want every tier to have cherry blossoms on them.

Today is a holiday here — it’s Canada’s birthday today. I’m not sure what’s going on today with the rest of the family. I don’t know if I really want to go to the park to watch the fireworks, because it’s too hot. I really dislike this weather and I know that Zoe doesn’t appreciate it either. I guess I don’t mind just watching the fireworks from my house. The park is really close to where I live anyways, so I think it should be fine.

Zoe got to visit her daddy’s work yesterday. I didn’t want to stay at home yesterday because it was too hot inside, so I decided to take Zoe to West Edmonton Mall with my mom, sister, and my cousin. I had to pick up Zoe’s stroller from Josh’s work beforehand. I could tell Josh is really in love with his daughter. He loves to show off Zoe to everybody.

Josh and I enjoyed a wonderful steak dinner over the weekend. We’re both big fans of steak. He cooked the steak while I made the mashed potatoes and macaroni salad. It’s fun cooking together and just enjoying dinner together as a family. It was kind of a busy weekend for us. We were doing some wedding planning so a nice steak dinner was a nice treat indeed.
